Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park

Botanical park in Bang Krachao, nice by rented bicycle.
About Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park
Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park and Botanical Garden is a public park at 73 Soi Wat Rat Rangsan in Bang Krachao, Phra Pradaeng, across the Chao Phraya from Khlong Toei. It opened in 2003 after a royal conservation project and covers about 148 rai (Wikipedia; TakeMeTour says about 200 rai). It is a shady mix of forest, ponds, wetland boardwalks and pavilions, and it is usually quiet.
You walk or cycle its paths, including a 2.2 km bike track and a 160 m hardwood boardwalk over the swamp, and climb the bird-watching tower for a view over the canopy. Sources report more than 100 bird species, plus butterflies and monitor lizards. Botanical signs in Thai and English explain plant uses. Entry is free, and bikes rent nearby for about 30 to 100 THB a day.
It suits an easygoing, active date: ride side by side under the trees, stop on a bridge, then find a cafe on the island. Go early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat, and time a weekend trip to add the Bang Nam Phueng market nearby.
