Chula Centenary Park

Sloped green park built for Chulalongkorn's 100th anniversary.
About Chula Centenary Park
Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park is a free public park of over 29 rai. It sits on Chulalongkorn University Centenary Road (formerly Chula Soi 5), between Samyan and National Stadium, near MBK. The university built it for its 100th anniversary. It follows an 'Urban Forest' design that holds stormwater and reduces flooding. The landscaping is modern, with ponds, lawns and trees against the city skyline.
Visitors walk the paths, use the free exercise equipment, feed fish in the ponds and sit in the open-air auditorium. Reviewers also mention viewing areas that look out over the Bangkok skyline. The park has seating, playgrounds, ramps and restrooms, and it hosts wellness and cultural events. Entry is free. It opens daily from 5 am to 10 pm.
It is a calm, low-cost date in the middle of the city. Take a walk or a picnic, then eat at Samyan or the MBK area nearby. Tripadvisor reviewers single out evenings and sunset with company as the best time. The heat eases then and the skyline lights come on.
Why it works for a date

- Award-winning flood-management design
- Good for sunset and evening walks
- Ponds, fish and signs of wildlife such as butterflies
Good to be aware of
- Little shade can make midday hot
- Small compared with Bangkok's big parks; fine for a short visit
Don't miss
