Chong Nonsi Canal Park

Canal-side park in the middle of Sathorn, lit up nicely at night.
About Chong Nonsi Canal Park
Chong Nonsi Canal Park is a linear park built along Khlong Chong Nonsi in Sathon, about a five-minute walk south of BTS Chong Nonsi near the Empire building. Designed by Thai landscape firm Landprocess and inspired by Seoul's Cheonggyecheon, it opened its first stretch of about 200 metres, between Sathon Road and Narathiwat Soi 7, on 25 December 2021. The full 4.5 km plan is split into five phases.
It is a short evening stroll rather than a big park: paved paths on both banks, planting, a misting fog system, a waterfall wall, ambient lighting and an elevated zigzag path that links up to the Chong Nonsi Skywalk. Only treated water is shown on the surface, with the canal water kept below. Entry is free.
For a date, it is an easy, free add-on to dinner or drinks in Sathon: walk the lit paths, take photos, and continue onto the skywalk. Trip.com lists hours of 4:30 to 9 pm, so go after sunset when it is cooler and the lights are on. Sources are mostly from 2021 and 2022, so later phases may have changed things.
Why it works for a date
- Welcome green space in the CBD
- Pretty lighting in the evening
- Right by BTS and the skywalk
Good to be aware of
- Only a short stretch is open
- Narrow paths and some edges without barriers
