About Piccolo Vicolo Café (Samyot)

Piccolo Vicolo Café at Wang Burapha-Samyot is the newer branch of the Piccolo Vicolo cafe, set in a renovated four-storey former machinery store beside Khlong Ong Ang, about 270 metres from MRT Samyot Exit 1. It keeps parts of the old building and fills them with plants: an indoor counter on the ground floor, a library-style room on the second, and an open terrace with city views on the third.

The menu covers coffee made with its own blends, matcha drinks, homemade sodas, pastries and hot sandwiches. Examples include a Matcha Latte at about 160 baht, a Blueberry Tart at 160 baht, Cold-Pressed Matcha-Apple at 190 baht and sandwiches at 240 baht, so it sits at the upper end of the 101 to 250 baht range.

It works well for a relaxed daytime date: coffee and cake in the library room, then photos on the leafy terrace, and a stroll along the canal afterwards. Go earlier in the day, as it closes at 6pm, and note the weekly closing day.

Why it works for a date

  • Leafy industrial loft across three floors
  • Good pastries and coffee
  • Open-air rooftop terrace
  • Friendly staff near the canal and MRT

Good to be aware of

  • Slightly high prices
  • No dedicated parking
  • Closes at 6pm and shuts one weekday
