Tha Tian Market

Old market by the pier between Wat Pho and the river.
About Tha Tian Market
Tha Tian (also spelled Tha Tien) is an old riverside market area in Phra Nakhon, between Wat Pho and the Chao Phraya River. It is known for its rows of old shophouses and for stalls that sell dried and salted seafood. Tha Tien pier is at the river end, looking across to Wat Arun.
You can walk the market lanes, look at dried fish and seafood, snack from the stalls and stop at the small cafes in the shophouses. Prices are local-market level. From the pier, a short cross-river ferry takes you to Wat Arun.
It is an easy date to add after visiting Wat Pho: walk through the market, cross the river together or find a riverside spot facing Wat Arun. Late afternoon into sunset is the best time, when the light on the temple is at its prettiest.
