Soi Phahon Yothin 7

The Ari lane lined with small cafés and restaurants, good for a slow walk.
About Soi Phahon Yothin 7
Soi Phahon Yothin 7, better known as Soi Ari, is the main lane of the Ari neighbourhood in Phaya Thai, starting right by Exit 3 of BTS Ari. Time Out calls Ari one of Bangkok's most liveable neighbourhoods, with leafy side streets, colourful cafes and a slower pace than the rest of the city. Condos and old shophouses sit side by side along the soi.
The busiest food stretch runs between Ari Soi 1 and Soi 3. Travelfish lists juice stands, Isaan sausage, yen ta fo noodles, chicken rice, dumplings, grilled bananas and khanom bueang, with the most vendors out at weekends. Lay Lao at number 65 is a Michelin-listed Hua Hin and Isan seafood spot at a moderate price. Street snacks and cafe drinks are cheap to mid-priced.
It works well for an unplanned date: meet at the BTS, snack along the street, then wander the side sois for coffee, a gallery or a low-lit bar. Go in the morning or late afternoon for cafes, or on a weekend evening when the most stalls are out and bars are opening.

- Easy BTS access
- Mix of old shophouse eats and new cafes
