About Sirimahannop

Sirimahannop is a replica of the last three-masted sailing ship used by the Royal Thai Navy in the reign of King Rama V. It is permanently moored on the Chao Phraya River at Asiatique The Riverfront, on Charoen Krung Road between Soi 72 and 76. Inside, the lower decks have a vintage maritime look, and above them is an open-air upper deck that looks out over the water.

The menu is Thai and pan-Asian fusion. Signature cocktails named after the river cost 350 to 380 baht, grilled tiger prawns and a whole baked sea bass are 690 baht each, and mango sticky rice is 240 baht. Wongnai lists it at 501 to 1,000 baht a head, although dinner with drinks can easily cost more. The kitchen is run by Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park, and diners say the service feels like a five-star hotel's.

Eating on a tall ship with the river breeze and the city lights around you makes for a memorable date, and you get the feel of a dinner cruise without the boat leaving the pier. Reviewers name sunset as the best time for views and photos. The ship opens at 4pm, so book an upper-deck table for early evening, especially on a weekend.
