Asiatique The Riverfront

Riverside night market with a Ferris wheel.
About Asiatique The Riverfront
Asiatique The Riverfront is a large open-air night market and dining complex on Charoen Krung Road in Bang Kho Laem, on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River. It fills restored warehouse-style buildings and has a riverside promenade. Its skyline is marked by the 60-metre Asiatique Sky Ferris wheel.
Entry is free. Most shops open around 5 to 6 pm and close near midnight. Sources count over 1,500 boutiques and more than 40 restaurants, plus food stalls and riverside dining in the Waterfront District. Paid extras include the Ferris wheel, at about 400 to 600 baht depending on the source, the nightly Calypso Cabaret and a Jurassic World experience. Prices are higher than at local markets.
It is an easy, scenic evening date. Take the free shuttle boat from Sathorn Pier at sunset, walk the promenade, share dinner by the water and ride the wheel for city views. Weekdays are calmer than weekends. The last boat leaves around 11:30 pm, and leaving by road can be slow.
Why it works for a date
- Scenic riverside setting at night
- Free entry and free shuttle boat
- Lots of dining and shopping in one place
- Ferris wheel views over the river
Good to be aware of
- Touristy prices; haggle at stalls
- Heavy weekend crowds and slow traffic leaving
- Last shuttle boat around 11:30pm
