Dib Bangkok

International contemporary art museum in a 1980s warehouse on Sukhumvit 40.
About Dib Bangkok
Dib Bangkok bills itself as Thailand's first international contemporary art museum. It opened on 21 December 2025 in a three-storey 1980s warehouse at 111 Sukhumvit Soi 40, off Rama IV in Khlong Toei. Kulapat Yantrasast of WHY Architecture redesigned the building with Architects 49, giving it about 7,000 sq m, eleven galleries, an outdoor sculpture courtyard and a 2nd-floor observation deck.
The opening show, (In)visible Presence, brought together around 40 Thai and international artists, including Montien Boonma, Lee Bul, Anselm Kiefer, Louise Bourgeois and James Turrell, whose Straight Up skyspace has bookable sunrise and sunset viewings. Alicja Kwade's eleven stone globes sit outside. Tickets are about 700 baht for non-Thai visitors and 500-550 baht for Thais. Watthu-Dib Bistro & Bar serves food all day.
The calm, open galleries and the sculpture courtyard make for an unhurried date of two to three hours, with a meal at the bistro afterwards. A sunset slot at the Turrell piece is the most memorable choice if you book it in advance. Buy tickets online, since onsite payment has been limited to cash or local cards.
