Bookmagol

Korean restaurant on Sukhumvit Road in Phra Khanong.
About Bookmagol
Bookmagol is a long-running Korean restaurant on Sukhumvit Road between Ekkamai and Phra Khanong, just before Gateway Ekamai and opposite Sukhumvit Hospital. It is not a book cafe. The room is open and spacious, so tables are not crammed together, though it gets lively at Friday dinner and on weekends.
The kitchen cooks home-style Korean food: garlic roasted bossam (steamed and roasted pork belly), beef galbi, kimchi jjigae, kimbap and set meals with banchan. Stews start around ฿250 to ฿300, while sharing platters such as a large bossam run about ฿850. Wongnai places it at ฿500 to ฿1,000 per person, and it is listed in the Michelin Guide.
It works for a relaxed, hearty dinner date where you share a big platter and a few stews. Reviewers suggest arriving before 6pm or after 8:30pm if you want it quieter. It also opens for lunch on most days, which is a calmer option.
Why it works for a date

- Consistent, authentic flavours over the years
- Generous portions and good side dishes
- Warm, attentive staff
Good to be aware of
- No parking
- Busy and loud on Friday nights and weekends
- Some find it pricey for lunch and banchan small
