The House on Sathorn

Dining in a restored colonial-era mansion on North Sathorn Road.
About The House on Sathorn
The House on Sathorn is a yellow neoclassical mansion from 1889 at 106 North Sathorn Road in Bang Rak, next to W Bangkok and about 200m from BTS Chong Nonsi. It was built for Luang Sathorn and later became Hotel Royal and then diplomatic offices. Today four buildings sit around a garden courtyard. It houses PAII, a modern Thai seafood restaurant, plus Bar Sathorn and a heritage afternoon tea service.
PAII, led by Chef Sarocha Rajatanavin, serves premium Thai seafood. Examples include Jean-Paul oysters with chili jam (฿520 for three), giant river prawns (฿1,550), crab fried rice made with 500g of mud crab (฿2,200) and Maine lobster green curry (฿3,500). Desserts run ฿370-490. Afternoon tea is ฿1,890++ for two, and most visitors spend over ฿1,000 per person.
The heritage setting makes this a strong choice for an anniversary or special dinner. Reviewers mention romantic, private seating, and the courtyard is pleasant on cooler evenings. Afternoon tea from 14:30 to 17:30 is a gentler daytime option, and cocktails at Bar Sathorn work before or after dinner. Reservations are recommended.
