Pak Khlong Talat – Wat Kanlayanamit

Cross-river ferry route between the flower market and Wat Kanlayanamit.
About Pak Khlong Talat – Wat Kanlayanamit
This is the small cross-river ferry that runs from Pak Khlong Talat, also called Tha Asadang, next to the flower market in Phra Nakhon. It crosses to Wat Kanlayanamit on the Thonburi bank. Pak Khlong Talat is Bangkok's main flower market and is open around the clock. The temple, founded in 1825, is a riverside landmark whose buildings mix Thai and Chinese styles.
The ride takes only a few minutes and costs about 5 to 6 baht. At the temple you can see Luang Pho To, a large seated Buddha that Chinese visitors also honour as Sam Po Kong, and a huge bronze bell that is said to be the biggest in Thailand. Before you cross, you can wander the flower stalls on Chak Phet Road.
For a date, buy flowers at the market, make the short crossing and walk the temple grounds. Nearby Kudi Chin also has old Portuguese-Thai streets. Reviewers suggest early morning for cooler air and fewer people, or late afternoon for soft light on the river. Dress modestly for the temple.
