About Hor Samut
Horsamut is a coastal Thai seafood restaurant from the Rongros Dining Group, set on Soi Tha Kham by the Chao Phraya in the old town near Tha Tian. The building has three levels: an air-conditioned dining room downstairs, a terrace with river views, and a rooftop bar. Reviewers describe warm orange tones, Nordic-style decor and a clear view across the water to the prang of Wat Arun.
The menu is Thai coastal cooking built on produce from small farms and fish from smaller boats. Signatures include Khao Yam Horsamut, a triple-citrus rice with pork belly and blue crab (฿550), charcoal-grilled Ayutthaya river prawns (฿1,200), pomelo salad and a sour curry with shrimp. Wongnai puts it at about ฿500 to ฿1,000 per person, and there are cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.
It suits a dinner date timed for sunset, when the terrace looks straight at Wat Arun, followed by a drink upstairs. Book ahead, since one Wongnai reviewer booked three weeks in advance and Tripadvisor guests recommend reserving on weekends. Daytime visits can be hot near the windows, so evening is the better choice.
