Doodle Izakaya

Japanese izakaya on Sukhumvit 47.
About Doodle Izakaya
Doodle is a modern izakaya in a converted two-story house at 8 Sukhumvit 47 Alley in Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana. It is about 600 meters from the BTS. Inside are dim lights and hand-drawn doodle art on the walls, and DJs play on many nights. There is a second branch at The Glass Market Bangna.
The menu is Japanese fusion small plates: yakitori sets, fresh sashimi and crudo, Snowy Truffle Toast, mentaiko or uni pasta, and rice bowls. There are also cocktails such as a yuzu whiskey sour, plus sake and cold beer. A playful touch is that you can doodle on your own wine glass. Tripadvisor rates it $$-$$$, and Wongnai puts it around 500 to over 1,000 baht a person.
It suits a playful, relaxed date where you share lots of small plates and chat for a couple of hours. Reviewers say it gets busy and the DJ can be loud at peak times, so book ahead and choose a weekday evening if you want to talk more easily. It opens at 5pm, so an early table is calmer.
