About BAD POUTINE
Bad Poutine is a small poutine shop at 1338B Song Wat Road, on the old Chinatown riverside street near MRT Wat Mangkon. It was started by Kasemparn "Fame" Jujindalert and Suparkorn "Pixie" Tipsumonta, and BK Magazine describes an open-fronted, urban grocery look with seats outside, inspired by New York street-level food spots.
The menu is Canadian-style poutine (fries, gravy and cheese) loaded with toppings, adjusted toward Thai tastes. Options include buttermilk chicken, bacon, pulled pork, fried fish, rib-eye and a pastrami smoked in-house for ten hours. Bowls cost roughly 150 to 250 baht, though prices differ between a 2024 blog and Wongnai's current listing.
It is a good, cheap stop on a Song Wat afternoon walk, between cafes, street art and old shophouses. Share a bowl or two and keep exploring. Go in the late afternoon or early evening, before it closes at 9pm, and note it is closed on Mondays.
