Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport is a new 468-room hotel in Lat Krabang, about 15 minutes from the airport by its free 24-hour shuttle. Guests often say it feels more like a resort than a typical airport hotel, with modern rooms of 29 to 69 square metres that look over the pool, the canal or towards downtown.
The centrepiece is a 40-metre saltwater pool with a swim-up bar. The pool bar serves Japanese charcoal barbecue and cocktails. Other dining includes Chon Som's all-day buffet, Big Bite Burger in the evenings and The Lobby Deli. There is also Let's Relax Spa for Thai massage and daily activities such as yoga, Thai boxing and Thai weaving workshops. Tripadvisor lists rates from about US$21 up to US$197 a night.
It fits a quiet resort-style night without leaving Bangkok, or a relaxed last evening before an early flight together. Spend the afternoon at the pool and swim-up bar, have a couples massage at the spa, then eat at Chon Som. Free parking makes it easy for a drive-in staycation.
