About BK Salon.bkk
BK Salon is a restaurant, cafe and bar at 11/31 Sathu Pradit Road, near Sathu Pradit Soi 6, in Yan Nawa. It is run by Michelin-starred chef Ton, who is behind Le Du and Nusara. The striking white building is inspired by the kratip, the woven Thai sticky rice basket. Inside, a lot of glass makes it bright and airy, and visitors describe it as a calm escape from the city.
The menu is Thai comfort food cooked with fine-dining technique, with some Thai-French touches. Well-known dishes include crab rice baked in lotus leaf (from about 1,800 baht for a sharing portion), tamarind fried shrimp with crispy egg, and a coconut ice cream served in the whole coconut. It serves coffee and brunch by day and cocktails and dinner at night. Wongnai puts it at about 500 to 1,000 baht per person.
It works well for a relaxed but special lunch or dinner, with a good-looking setting for photos and a chef's name behind the food. Weekend brunch from 9:30 is quieter than evenings. Book ahead for dinner. It is pet-friendly and has its own parking.
